In 2011, a new operator and several new service providers started activities on the fiber network of Reggefiber. The new operator is GlasOperator, an operator on the fiber network in Rotterdam and – soon – on the fiber networks in Alphen aan den Rijn and Vught. GlasOperator aims to be the operator that can offer its services wholesale to providers on all the fiber networks (Rotterdam, CIF and especially Reggefiber). A total of nine new service providers made their appearance in 2011. The providers for consumers are Glashelder, Kliksafe, Vodafone, Wisper and XS4ALL. The new small business providers are Compatible, Fieber, Helden van Nu and Xconnection. All of these provide comprehensive fiber-based services for internet, telephony and television. The business providers also provide services in the domain of debit card payments, security, Voice over IP, online backup and cloud computing. The advent of the fiber network promised a greater choice of services and providers. That promise has now been amply fulfilled. More new providers are expected to enter the fiber network of Reggefiber in 2012.
